SOUS CHEF

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Sous Chef to join our culinary team. As a Sous Chef you will work closely with the Chef to manage and lead our kitchen operations. The ideal candidate should have a strong culinary background, excellent leadership skills and a passion for his work.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Oversee day to day kitchen operations, ensuring a smooth workflow and efficient execution of tasks.
  • Collaborate with the Chef to implement and maintain high-quality standards in food preparation and presentation.
  • Contribute to menu planning and development, bringing creativity and innovation to enhance our culinary offerings.

  • Lead and supervise kitchen staff providing training, motivation, and support.
  • Delegate tasks effectively to ensure a collaborative and positive work environment.
  • Monitor and manage kitchen inventory, including ordering supplies, controlling costs and minimizing waste.
  • Maintain awareness of ingredient freshness and rotation.
  • Ensure all dishes leaving the kitchen meet quality standards and presentation expectations.
  • Implement and uphold food safety and sanitation standards in the kitchen.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Culinary degree from a reputable culinary school
  • Min 10 years of experience in a kitchen environment
  • Min 2 years of experience as a sous chef
  • Exceptional culinary skills and a deep understanding of various cooking techniques
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate a team, delegating tasks effectively.
  • Strong organizational skills for interactions with kitchen staff, management, and team members.
  • Ability to adapt to changing circumstances, handle high-pressure situations, and make quick decisions.
  • Familiarity with food safety regulations and a commitment to maintaining a clean and safe kitchen.

    RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Prepare and cook menu items in accordance with established recipes and presentation standards.

          REQUIREMENTS
          • High school diploma, Hospitality certification is a plus.

            RESPONSIBILITIES
            • Keeping the kitchen in great working order by ensuring impeccable cleaning and sanitising standards
            • Cleaning and sanitising all areas, as well as kitchen walls, fan extractors, sinks, stoves, grills and ovens
            • Sweeping and mopping all kitchen areas during and at the end of shifts
            • Emptying, re-lining and washing garbage bins
            • Washing plates, glasses, cutlery and other kitchen equipment, securing a constant supply during busy service hours
            • Maintaining cleaning product stock levels and informing management of cleaning product order requirements
            • Reporting any equipment or property damages so they can be fixed or replaced

              CLEANER
              RESPONSIBILITIES
              • Responsible for assisting with the daily cleaning operations & procedures of the restaurant
              • Maintaining the restaurant’s overall cleanliness and sanitation throughout the shift
              • Cleaning of restrooms, trash removal, sweeping and moping
              • Perform regular inspections to the restrooms and make sure that they are kept clean and tidy at all times
              • Operating the wash-up area making sure there is a constant supply of plates, cutlery and glasses for service
              • Assisting with supplier deliveries if needed
              • Monitoring cleaning product stock levels and informing management of any order requirements
              • Reporting any damages throughout the restaurant
